Justin qualified  (City & Guild) as a plumber in 2002 and is CITB UHWSS (Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems) registered.   He became interested in solar power in 2005 and installed a system on his own home which generated so much interest and demand he set up JWSolarsolutions in 2006.

To continue his success he and IDA Concepts (www.eco-nomical.co.uk) have joined forces and are accredited installers (Installer Number NAP 12176) under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme - Photovoltaic MIS3002, Solar Thermal MIS3001. All of our photovoltaic installations are eligilible to the new feed-in tariff introduced on 1st April 2010 which replaced the Low Carbon Building Programme grant and all our new solar thermal installations are eligilbe for the Renewable Heat Incentive in 2011 <click here> for more information.

Justin and his wife are serious about the products he sells and installs.  Their own property has been a major part towards the success of JWSolarsolutions by providing testing, research and data recording of the products.  It has solar thermal panels which heats their hot water for the majority of the year (assisted by a backboiler fitted in their multifuel stove in the colder months).  They also have 6 photovoltaic arrays situated on both the south and north facing roof, shed roof and tracker situated in the rear garden.

All the arrays have helped to reduce their annual electric consumption from 6000kwh to 1015kwh over the last 5 years and also provides them with a quarterly payment from the Feed-In Tariff scheme.

You can view our arrays performances on 'Sunny Portal'.  This is a free service from SMA - a web based portal which receives data from our Sunny WebBox.  The WebBox reports and archives performance of individual inverters - we have five!  This site gives you details of it's current status at any given time.
